Last night, Senate Republicans released a third economic stimulus package (S. 3548) that includes loans for strategically important industries, tax relief for families and businesses, direct financial support for individuals and families in the form of stimulus checks, funds for small business loans, and new funding for the healthcare industry.
The current package represents Republican priorities, with Democrats working to include alternative proposals. Senate leaders are working to reach a deal as soon as possible, with the goal to vote on Monday. The House is currently out of session, but leaders will call lawmakers back to vote once legislation passes the Senate. We will send a more detailed update once an agreement is reached to move the legislation forward in the Senate.
