FEI Systems Files Official Notice of Data Breach Affecting Consumers’ SSNs

On May 14, 2024, FEI.com, Inc. d/b/a FEI Systems filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Texas after discovering that an unauthorized party was able to access confidential information that had been entrusted to the company. In this notice, FEI Systems explains that the incident resulted in an unauthorized party being able to access consumers’ sensitive information, which includes their names, Social Security numbers, health insurance information and dates of birth. Upon completing its investigation, FEI Systems began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals whose information was affected by the recent data security incident.

What Caused the FEI Systems Data Breach?

The FEI Systems data breach was only recently announced, and more information is expected in the near future. However, at this point, FEI Systems’ has not yet posted a website notice discussing the incident, and the company’s filing with the Attorney General of Texas provides only limited information on what led up to the breach.

While the breached information varies depending on the individual, it may include your name, Social Security number, health insurance information and date of birth.

On May 14, 2024, FEI Systems filed a notice of the incident with the Texas Attorney General.
