On January 11, 2022, the State’s Public Health and Health Planning Council approved an amendment to the Health Department’s hospital facility vaccine mandate to require health care employees, to be considered “fully vaccinated” in accordance with the regulations, to obtain “any booster or supplemental dose as recommended by the CDC.”

The amended regulations do not provide any deadline for healthcare facility employees to obtain boosters. The Health Department stated that this would be addressed in future guidance. As a reminder, the hospital facility vaccine mandate applies to general hospitals, nursing homes, diagnostic and treatment centers, certified home health agencies, long term home health care programs, AIDS home care programs, licensed home care service agencies, hospices, and adult care facilities under the Health Department’s regulatory authority.
