On April 25-27, 2022,  the nonpartisan National Association of Attorneys General held its annual symposium in Austin, Texas. There was a great turnout with over 23 AGs from across the nation and a significant number of chief deputies as well.  The agenda was wide-ranging and included cryptocurrency 101, an overview of the U.S.  Supreme Court’s current term from two of the nation’s leading SCOTUS practitioners, the challenges posed by technology today, and autonomous vehicles. The first day of the symposium was closed to the general public. The second day opened with a touching memorial video to the late Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem followed by a session on bipartisan cooperation in multistates.  This bipartisan cooperation was clearly on display as Ohio AG David Yost and Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum, to the delight of the entire room, sang “Get Together” as a duet to open the session.  The symposium was well attended, bipartisan and engaging, despite the divisive political undercurrent in the upcoming midterm elections, in which many of the AGs present are running.
