  • Arizona Republican AG candidate Abe Hamadeh filed a new lawsuit after the results of a recount in the November AG election were announced. The complaint, filed in the Mohave County Superior Court, challenges the election results and alleges that the vote discrepancy between the original results and the recount results calls into question the completeness and accuracy of the tally.
  • Approximately 2.5 million votes were cast in the race for Arizona Attorney General. A recount was automatically triggered when Democrat Kris Mayes won the race in the original results by only 511 votes, as the vote differential was less than the half- percentage point threshold under Arizona law. The recount results confirmed Mayes’s lead but narrowed her margin of victory to 280 votes, and Mayes was sworn into office on January 2.
  • Hamadeh had filed a different lawsuit challenging the results in December, prior to the announcement of the recount results, but that lawsuit was dismissed for failure to meet the burden of proof.
