Osceola County is considering a significant increase in park impact fees for residential development. The new park impact fees will impact all residential development in the County as well as development within municipalities that have consented to the imposition of County park impact fees. The County already has some of the highest impact fees in Florida.

A February 13th study by the County Commission found that current ad valorem tax revenue and other revenue is insufficient to provide for community parks necessary to accommodate new residential construction. In accordance with these findings, the County Commission is considering raising park impact fees for residential development.

Currently, park impact fees for single family development is $923.73 per unit. The new park impact fees will raise this fee to 2,304.72 per unit, or nearly 150%. Multi-family will increase from $677.39 per unit to $1,117.97 per unit and mobile homes will increase from $678 .97 per unit to $1,689.66 per unit.

If adopted, the new park impact fees will become effective at the March 18, 2019 Osceola County Board of County Commissioners meeting. All residential building permits applied for and issued on or after July 18, 2019 will be subject to the new park impact fees.
