Gold Dome Report – Legislative Day 1, 2022

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP

With many legislators rushing to appointments in Indianapolis, the first day of the 2022 Georgia Legislative Session concluded as quickly as it began–but not before Glory, Glory rang through the hallways as jarringly as the voting bells. The Georgia Constitution (which requires the General Assembly convene on the second Monday of January) was indeed the only reason Representatives and Senators convened yesterday; it was clear that most hearts (and some bodies) were already at Lucas Oil Stadium where the Georgia Bulldogs will contest the Alabama Crimson Tide for the National Championship tonight.

The chambers gaveled in, set a schedule for the first seven legislative days, and then called it a day. Not much else to see under the Gold Dome today, so not much to see in the #GoldDomeReport, either. Read on for the legislative schedule, then get back to the last taste of college football until August. Have no fear, though–we will be back on Wednesday.
