I am a true believer in mediation. It is honest, creative and raw. In mediation the parties are involved in their end result and can do things that a judge may not do. This week I served as a mediator and at the beginning of the mediation the parties barely spoke and didn’t want to be in the same room. By the end, they spoke openly and came to an agreement on all issues.
If you are going to mediation be prepared, meet with your lawyer before hand to be on the same page and be ready to resolve all the issues. See below for more information on mediation and also parent coordination.
