On February 12, 2021, recently elected Montana Governor Greg Gianforte issued Executive Order 3-2021 rescinding Governor Bullock’s Executive Order 15-2018, which had contained pay-to-play provisions for contractors and prospective contractors. See here. Although this rule had not affected too many entities in the state, it did pile more campaign finance regulation on top of what the Commissioner of Public Practices has instituted over the years. As a result of this action by Governor Gianforte, Montana no longer has any pay-to-play restrictions.
