Self-driving cars – coming to a traffic light next to you. It has been over eight years since Google first began testing its self-driving cars on the road, and now the Tennessee General Assembly thinks it's time for them to be included in Tennessee law. The House Transportation Committee heard SB151 / HB381, which authorizes the operation of cars equipped with an automated driving system (ADS) on Tennessee roads. Some committee members expressed concerns about accountability as it relates to insurance underwriting and the impact it may have on manufacturers. So, Lamberth agreed to move the vote on the bill, which will also be heard in the Senate Transportation & Safety Committee next week. Beam me up, Scotty.
