HEADLINES

  • Congress reportedly is on the verge of moving forward on significant bipartisan gun control legislation amid the current wave of violence across the United States.
  • The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol will continue its series of public hearings.
  • President Joe Biden will travel to Philadelphia to speak at the 29th AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention.

HOUSE

  • The House is in session tonight through Thursday. The agenda includes final approval of Senate-passed legislation to overhaul ocean shipping rules.
  • The House Appropriations Committee will begin marking up fiscal year 2023 spending legislation.
  • The Education and Labor Committee will hold a hearing tomorrow with Secretary Marty Walsh on the priorities of the Labor Department.

SENATE

  • The Senate will continue consideration of compromise legislation to extend benefits to veterans exposed to toxic substances during combat.
  • After a delay, the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee will take up its version of legislation to reauthorize FDA user-fee programs.
  • The Veterans’ Affairs Committee will hold a hearing with Secretary Denis McDonough.

WHITE HOUSE

  • Biden will keynote the AFL-CIO convention in Philadelphia tomorrow.
  • Wednesday, Biden will host a Pride Month reception at the White House.
  • Friday, Biden will host the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate.
