U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that effective today it will resume premium processing for all H-1B petitions. Under the USCIS premium processing program, the agency guarantees a 15-day processing time. If the agency does not take certain adjudicative action within the 15?calendar day processing time, USCIS will refund the petitioner’s premium processing service fee and continue with expedited processing of the petition.

Premium processing is a particularly useful option for companies that need expedited H-1B petition approval for employees who must travel abroad and who must apply for a new H-1B visa stamp at a U.S. consulate in order to return to the United States.
