With the recent enactment of Connecticut’s Paid Family and Medical Leave (CTPFML) law, the availability of paid leave, coupled with a vast expansion of covered employers, covered employees, and reasons for leave, will bring a major shift in leave management in Connecticut. While most CTPFML provisions will not go into effect until January 2021 and 2022, employers are asking what to expect and how to prepare. Please join Sally St. Onge and Justin Theriault of the firm’s Hartford office for this complimentary one-hour webinar regarding the requirements of the law and best practices for employers preparing for the changes to come.

Topics

  • Summarizing significant changes in Connecticut FMLA coverage
  • Considering the anticipated interplay between the CTPFML, the federal Family Medical Leave Act, the state’s Paid Sick Leave law, and employer-provided paid time off or other paid benefits
  • Anticipating the challenge of administering and planning for intermittent CTPFML
  • Preparing for employee contributions to begin January 1, 2021
