With continuing concerns about the Coronavirus, the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Commission has extended the suspension of in-person hearings as discussed previously.

Per Commissioner Cortese’s August 14, 2020 Order, all workers’ compensation hearings scheduled through November 20, 2020 will be held via CourtCall. The Commissioner may issue another order extending the suspension of in-person hearings if the public health situation does not improve.

Either party can move to continue the hearing, but the continued hearing must be rescheduled for a date between December 21, 2020 and June 18, 2021. If the parties move forward with the hearing via CourtCall, the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Commissioner will pay the fees associated with conducting the hearing using CourtCall.
