The Global Climate Action Summit will bring leaders and people together from around the world to “Take Ambition to the Next Level.” It will be a moment to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of states, regions, cities, companies, investors, and citizens with respect to climate action and to talk about the future.
Our panel will focus on prominent investor groups and funds that have discovered emission negative CO2-capturing technologies – an industry that could grow into a trillion dollar market. Surprisingly, the United States is one of the first countries in the world that introduced an enhanced tax credit for carbon capture and sequestration technologies as part of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018. Still, forecasting the profitability of plants that suck carbon oxide out of the air or out of industrial emissions has been challenging. On our panel, investors and carbon capturing companies will discuss their criteria for investments in the technology, or in carbon capturing plants, and whether the new tax credit will help their return on investment.
Speakers that have been invited to the panel include for example carbon capture companies Global Thermostat, Carbon Engineering Ltd., and Clean Energy Systems (requested), as well as investors from Climate Investment at the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI), from Energy & Resources at XPRIZE, and NBL Investors (requested).
Who should attend? Companies that emit, capture, store or re-use CO2, investors, financiers, and interested public.
This program is recognized as an Affiliate Event of the 2018 Global Climate Action Summit, held September 12-14 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco and presented in cooperation with the West Coast chapter of the German American Chambers of Commerce (GACC).
