  • The FTC has announced a proposed settlement with Health Research Laboratories, LLC, Whole Body Supplements, LLC, and their owner (collectively, “Respondents”), over allegations that they made unsubstantiated claims that their supplements—The Ultimate Heart Formula, BG18, Black Garlic Botanicals, and Neupathic —prevent or treat cardiovascular and other diseases.
  • The administrative complaint alleged that the two companies violated the FTC Act by using deceptive printed promotional materials and online information to make unsubstantiated claims that their products could prevent and treat a range of diseases, including arterial plaque, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, and also that its supplement Neupathic could relieve neuropathy.
  • Under the terms of the proposed agreement, Respondents will be banned from marketing or promoting any dietary supplements, or represent that any product treats or cures diseases, and notify customers of both the FTC’s legal action and the lack of scientific support for their product claims.
