HUD awards Choice Neighborhood Planning Grants in six cities

On Friday, January 16, 2015, HUD announced the Choice Neighborhood Planning Grant awards. HUD is awarding $3.2 million in Choice Neighborhood Planning Grants to the following recipients:

City of Flint/Flint Housing Commission (Flint MI)

City of Gary/Legacy Foundation/City of Gary Economic Development Corporation (Gary IN)

Louisville Metro Housing Authority (Louisville KY)

Mobile Housing Board (Mobile AL)

City of North Las Vegas/Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority (North Las Vegas NV)

Urban Strategies Inc. (St. Louis MO)

The Choice Neighborhood Planning Grants ranged from $375,000 to $500,000 and provide grant assistance to recipients to develop comprehensive revitalization plans to transform distressed communities. The Choice Neighborhood Initiative also awards implementation grants through a separate grant application. For more information on the Choice Neighborhood Initiative, click here.
