Indiana Legislative Council to Announce Topics for Summer Interim Study Committees

The Indiana Legislative Council will convene Thursday, May 25 at 11:30 a.m. at the Indiana Statehouse, room 431, to announce the topics that will be studied this summer in the interim study committees. Throughout the course of legislative session, lawmakers urged the Legislative Council to consider studying a number of topics. The four caucus leaders will meet prior to the meeting on Thursday to discuss the various recommendations. In order for a topic to go to a study committee, it must receive three out of four votes from the leaders. The legislative council is comprised as follows:

Council Leadership

Rep. Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis), Vice Chairperson

Senate Members

Sen. Rod Bray (R-Martinsville), Sen. Jean Breaux (D-Indianapolis), Sen. Susan Glick (R-LaGrange), Sen. Brandt Hershman (R-Buck Creek), Sen. Timothy Lanane (D-Anderson), Sen. Jim Merritt (R- Indianapolis) and Sen. Karen Tallian (D-Portage)

House Members

Rep. John Bartlett (D-Indianapolis), Rep. Tim Brown (R-Crawfordsville), Rep. Linda Lawson (D-Hammond), Rep. Matt Lehman (R-Berne), Rep. Scott Pelath (D-Michigan City), Rep. Kathy Richardson (R-Noblesville) and Rep. Greg Steuerwald (R-Avon)
