"You might be a borker if ....” While his jokes draw laughs by capitalizing on a person’s lack of self-awareness, a business that unwittingly engages in transportation brokerage is anything but a laughing matter.

Federal law defines a transportation broker as:

... a person, other than a motor carrier, that offers for sale,

negotiates for, or holds itself out by solicitation, advertisement,

or otherwise as selling, providing or arranging for transportation by motor carrier for compensation. [49 U.S.C. §13102(2)]
