The Offi ce of Federal Contract Compliance Programs published this morning a proposed rule regarding affirmative action obligations under the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act, with a 60-day comment period. The proposed rule reportedly will increase the obligation of federal contractors to collect data and will require contractors to adopt “hiring benchmarks” against which their actual hiring of protected veterans will be measured.

We are currently reviewing the proposed rule, which is extensive, and we will issue a more in-depth bulletin in the near future.
