On March 25, 2020, Osceola County followed Orange County’s lead and issued its own shelter-in-place order. The list of businesses deemed “essential” from Osceola’s order is the same as Orange County’s, except that Osceola added “golf courses for the benefit of physical activity” to its list of essential businesses. [UPDATE: On March 26, 2020, Orange County amended its order, adding golf courses and several other types of businesses to its list of essential businesses.]

The order, which will become effective on Thursday, March 26 at 11 p.m. and will expire on April 9, sets new standards for the conduct of individuals and businesses in response to the public health crisis caused by COVID-19.

While employees of all businesses may continue to work from home, the order provides that all “non-essential retail and commercial businesses” must close, while businesses listed as “essential” may remain open.
