Riverside County has issued a Request for Participants, seeking private companies who are willing to partner with the County and build out wireline and wireless broadband infrastructure to provide high-speed, broadband Internet services to businesses and residences throughout the County.

The RFP for the RIVCOconnect Broadband Initiative was issued in collaboration with many of the incorporated cities, and some of the tribal nations, in Riverside County in an effort to make it as simple as possible for providers to enter the market and plan builds as if the entire County was a single jurisdiction.

Riverside County — covering an area nearly the size of New Jersey — may be the geographically largest community that is seeking companies willing to build-out new broadband infrastructure to residents and businesses. (Best Best & Krieger assisted in preparation of the RFP, which was issued on April 3.)
