The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) Office of Air Quality has released a document titled:

State of the Air – 2017 (“Report”)

The Report states its purpose is to provide:

• A concise presentation of data about the state of Arkansas air quality
• The programs implemented by ADEQ’s Office of Air Quality
• Key milestones by the Office of Air Quality during the federal fiscal year 2017
• Documentation of trends in air quality throughout the State of Arkansas

ADEQ states that the Report concludes that “ambient concentrations of most pollutants have decreased during the time period evaluated in the Report and that all monitoring locations in Arkansas are currently exhibiting design values well below national ambient air quality health-based standards for all pollutants.”

The agency further notes the Report addresses trends and observes air quality data for air outdoor pollutants which include ozone, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, lead, and their precursors.

The 90-page Report includes discussions involving:

• Permits
• Air Compliance
• Asbestos
• Enforcement
• Policy and Planning

The Report also includes five appendices, 10 tables, and 27 figures.
