But you do need a number of additional tools in your tool kit which will prepare the practitioner for dealing with the fact that there is going to be oftentimes a foreign authority investigating the same conduct and maybe bringing charges against the same client.
It’s a big fear that we see again and again as more and more prosecutors and regulators across international borders are investigating the same criminal conduct.
The key part of this is to be able to negotiate with the respective prosecutors to try to get the case winnowed down to a single prosecution against your client as opposed to multiple prosecutions across international borders.
