  • Daniel Uhlfelder, an attorney and activist from Florida’s Panhandle, and former State Attorney Aramis Ayala, from Central Florida, have both entered the Democratic primary in the 2022 Florida AG election. Whichever candidate clinches the Democratic nomination in August will face Incumbent AG Ashley Moody in the November general election.
  • Uhlfelder is a general-practice attorney and activist who made headlines in 2020 for walking Florida beaches dressed as the Grim Reaper to protest the State reopening the beaches during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Ayala served as a public defender and assistant state attorney for almost 15 years and, in 2016, was elected State Attorney of Florida’s 9th Judicial Circuit.
