On August 3, 2020, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued a final rule making significant changes to immigration and naturalization related filing fees. The rule goes into effect on October 2, 2020, and the weighted average fee increase is 20%. Here are some examples of fee changes for common business immigration related filings:  

  • I-129 Petition for Immigrant Worker for H-1B employees has been increased by 21% from $460 to $555.
  • I-140 Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker has been reduced by 11% from $700 to $555.
  • I-756 Application for Employment Authorization (non-DACA) has been increased by 34% from $410 to $550.
  • N-400 Application for Naturalization has been increased by 81% from $640 to $1,160.
