U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that it is extending its current office closures, and is now preparing to reopen its offices on or after June 4, 2020.

On March 18, USCIS initially announced the suspension of in-person services at its field offices, asylum offices, and application support centers (ASCs) due to the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Outbreak. The prior USCIS announcement had extended the temporary suspension of these services through May 3, 2020.  During this time, USCIS offices have continued to perform mission-essential services that do not require face-to-face contact with the public, and provide limited emergency in-person services.

As part of the temporary suspension of services, USCIS will send notices to applicants and petitioners with scheduled appointments, naturalization ceremonies, and ASC appointments that were impacted by the closure. USCIS will automatically reschedule interviews and send new interview notice with the new time, date and location of the appointment.

By contrast, those who had InfoPass or other appointments must reschedule through the USCIS Contact Center once field offices are open to the public again. USCIS advises applicants to check if the respective office has been reopened before calling the Contact Center.
