After what feels like four years of nonstop campaigning, the 2020 election is finally upon us! As we head into Tuesday night, polls indicate it will be a tough night for Republicans. However, four years ago, the polling was wildly off and Republicans vastly outperformed expectations. Will we see a repeat in 2020?

On the funding side, Democrats have more than just a spending advantage in Minnesota—they have outraised and outspent Republicans by over 2-1 margins throughout the state, with some races seeing Republicans outspent by a 4-1 margin. Early and absentee voting will also come into play and will make results in some states take longer. As you watch the news and scroll through results Tuesday night, here are some key factors to watch. Look for an election results email from Stinson on Wednesday.

U.S. Races

Watch for presidential returns in the following states: Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Ohio. These should be called early and are key states to watch where polling is tight. These are almost all "must win" states for Trump.

As the night goes on, keep an eye on the returns in Texas. They have had massive early voter turnout—seven days before Election Day they had already hit almost 90 percent of the 2016 presidential turnout. Democrats are hoping this is a positive sign for Biden's chances in the Republican stronghold. While Trump is still favored to win the Lone Star State, a loss here would all but end his chances for re-election.
