Practice/Organization Description
Specializing in federal administrative law and government contracting, Jon W. van Horne brings over three decades of experience to the representation of his clients. With experience in government and corporate positions as well as private practice, Jon focuses on creative problem solving for clients with difficult issues in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Jon van Horne’s experience includes various positions in the Office of the General Counsel of the Navy and the General Electric Company, as well as private practice in Washington DC.
In addition to providing counseling on government contract matters, including grants and leases, to a number of the clients, Jon has participated in due diligence exercises for corporate sales and has conducted contract litigation in the administrative tribunals and U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
Another significant area of Jon’s practice is American Indian law. Having started with Indian Gaming Regulatory Act matters, he has also been involved in federal recognition of Indian tribes, land-to-trust issues and economic development on reservations. Jon also deals with other federal administrative matters such as the export controls, anti-boycott and embargo regulations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Exon-Florio and FOCI matters, and the Freedom of Information Act.
