We also include a U.S. map that highlights the AG political landscape with respect to party affiliation.
AGs are playing an increasingly active and powerful role in their respective states and at the national level. Whether it is enforcing their own state laws, exercising their ever increasing enforcement authority over many federal laws, launching multistate investigations, or taking public policy positions, AGs are expanding their influence and receiving an unprecedented amount of media attention.
The November 2011 election did not bring about significant change to the Attorney General landscape. Democratic AGs Jack Conway (KY) and Jim Hood (MS) were elected to a second term. Attorney General Caldwell, a Republican, was reelected....
