The Internal Revenue Service and Social Security Administration have announced the various retirement plan benefit and employment tax limits for 2021. Certain limitations will not change for 2021 because they are not subject to annual adjustments or because the increase in the cost-of-living index did not meet the statutory thresholds that trigger their adjustment. However, other limitations will change because the increase in the index did meet the statutory thresholds.
The limits for 2021, as compared to those in effect for the current year, are set forth below. The limits that have changed are printed in bold.
