50-State Status Update: Essential Businesses and Permitted Activities Amid Stay At Home Orders (Updated May 20, 2020)

Alabama’s Safer at Home Order, issued on May 8, 2020, encourages everyone in the state to minimize travel beyond the home, especially if sick; wear a face covering around people from other households; frequently wash their hands with soap and water or a hand sanitizer; refrain from touching their face; sneeze and cough into a tissue or inside their elbow; and disinfect used items

and surfaces as much as possible. People who havetested positive for COVID-19 must remain quarantined at their residence for 14 days.

Effective May 11, 2020, all non-work related gatherings of any size that may not maintain a consistent 6 foot distance between persons from different households are prohibited.
