50 State Survey – Coronavirus-Related “Stay at Home” Orders

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP

More than a month into the COVID-19 crisis in the United States, the vast majority of states, as well as many counties and cities, have issued orders mandating that residents “stay at home” as much as possible and the closure of most non-essential business operations.

As pressure grows to reopen the economy, some states and localities are beginning to amend existing measures to allow for more businesses to open—but often with limitations or requirements of some kind. Our Akin Gump team has been monitoring and compiling high-level state and local orders and guidance, and we will continue to provide daily updates.

A link to this tracker can also be found on the Akin Gump COVID-19 Resource Center page on the right-hand side under the “Resources” module.

This chart consists of high-level state and local orders, but is not an exhaustive list.
