West Africa Ebola Outbreak -
On August 28th, the academic journal Science published the research of more than 50 Harvard University scientists on the Ebola virus origin and transmission during the 2014 West Africa outbreak. After sequencing the genomes of Ebola virus from 78 patients in Sierra Leone, the scientists believe the virus came from Central Africa within the past decade and was transmitted by a single animal source before it began to spread among humans.
