What We Know So Far About the Albertsons Breach

News of the Albertsons data breach is still fresh; however, what we know at this point comes from the company’s filing with the Attorney General of Montana. According to this source, on December 23, 0222, Albertsons determined that an unauthorized party was able to gain access to the company’s computer system after infecting the system with malware. In response, Albertsons secured its systems and then launched an investigation to determine what, if any, consumer information was impacted by the attack.

Albertsons later determined that some of the data that was accessible to the unauthorized party included confidential consumer information.
