On February 24, 2023, Aloha Nursing Rehab Centre (“Aloha”) filed notice of a data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights after learning that an unauthorized party accessed electronic files containing confidential patient information from the company’s computer network. Based on the company’s official filing, the incident resulted in an unauthorized party gaining access to patients’ full names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, financial account information, driver’s license or state identification numbers, and protected health information.
