Recently, OSHA announced a revision to its recordkeeping requirements. The revision updates the list of industries required to keep injury and illness records. The new requirements go into effect on January 1, 2015. Some industries that were previously required to maintain injury and illness records will not be required to do so as of next year. However, many previously exempt industries are now required to keep such records. To review the list of newly-covered industries, as well as the complete list of industries that are exempt from recordkeeping requirements, go to https://www.osha.gov/recordkeeping2014/records.html.
