Workers at asbestos job sites in the state of Texas may be at risk of developing mesothelioma, asbestos lung cancer, or other diseases as a result of asbestos exposure.

For decades, asbestos materials were commonly found in refineries, chemical plants, shipyards, aluminum smelters, manufacturing plants, and other work sites in Texas.

Employees who were exposed to these materials and diagnosed with cancers caused by asbestos exposure may be eligible to take legal action or file a claim with one of the trust funds designed to compensate asbestos victims.

Asbestos Job Sites in the State of Texas

Since oil was discovered in Texas in the early 20th century, Texas has been at the center of the United States oil, gas, and chemical industries.

Many of the refineries, chemical plants, and manufacturing sites used by companies in the oil and gas industry contained asbestos materials, either in the products with which employees worked, or in the very buildings themselves.

When workers at these facilities inhaled or otherwise ingested airborne asbestos fibers, they were at risk of developing mesothelioma cancer, asbestos lung cancer, or other diseases linked to asbestos exposure.
