The City of Long Beach has hired Best Best & Krieger LLP Of Counsel Gary Schons to conduct an independent investigation into the Long Beach Police Department’s use of a controversial communications app. TigerText, which automatically deletes messages, potentially raises issues related to public safety and the Public Records Act.
“We’re looking forward to finding an independent, neutral review—not based on accusation, but based on facts and evidence,” Deputy Police Chief Richard Conant said at the City Council’s Public Safety Committee meeting Oct. 9, according to an Oct. 10 article in the Long Beach Post.
