The Libraries of the House of Commons and House of Lords have published 3 #Brexit briefing papers.

In “Brexit: what happens next?“, the House of Commons library asks and answers a series of questions, including:

• Will immigration be affected?
• What are the options for Scotland?
• What about Gibraltar? and
• Can France renegotiate the Le Touquet Treaty?

In “Brexit: how does the article 50 process work?“, the House of Commons library examines the Treaty basis for the UK’s withdrawal from the EU; the giving of notice of intention to withdraw; the withdrawal negotiations; the withdrawal agreement; and the UK’s future relations with the EU.

In “Leaving the EU: Parliament’s roles in the process“, the House of Lords Library considers who is lawfully empowered to give the article 50 notice on the UK’s behalf;  how the UK / EU negotiation process will be overseen, for and on behalf of the UK; and how any UK / EU withdrawal agreement will be ratified, in due course.
