During its 44th Annual meeting in Istanbul, the Global Privacy Assembly (GPA) voted to admit the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) as a full voting member.

The Global Privacy Assembly is a global forum of over 130 data protection and privacy authorities. Previously known as the International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners, it was established in 1979 to help advance privacy by fostering cooperation and information-sharing among privacy authorities across the globe.

Observing members from the U.S. include the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB).
