Movement on legalizing cannabis inches ahead on a federal level -

Cannabis rescheduling hearings began on January 21, 2025, to evaluate moving cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act as public support for the change continues to grow. With a recent stay placed on the hearings, the future of rescheduling in 2025 remains uncertain. In the meantime, states continue to roll out new regulated cannabis adult-use programs, like Kentucky, while other states grapple with regulating, restricting. and/or banning hemp-derived THC products, like California.
