On March 20, 2020, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced a program whereby U.S. importers may request additional days for payment of estimated duties, taxes and fees due to the severity of the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).  At this time it is unclear how long CBP will grant duty deferrals or exactly what the application process will entail.  The Polsinelli International Trade and Customs Group is monitoring these developments closely and stands ready to assist importers in requesting duty deferrals from CBP.
