What Caused the Conditioned Air Data Breach?

The Conditioned Air data breach was only recently announced, and more information is expected in the near future. Unfortunately, at this early point, Conditioned Air’s filing with the Attorney General of Massachusetts provides only limited information on what led up to the breach.

According to this source, Conditioned Air recently learned that it had experienced a data security incident. In response, Conditioned Air secured its network and then launched an investigation to learn more about the incident and what, if any, consumer information was leaked.

Ultimately, Conditioned Air’s investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access files on the company’s computer network that contained confidential consumer information.

After learning that sensitive consumer data was accessible to an unauthorized party, Conditioned Air reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted. While the breached information varies depending on the individual, it may include your name, Social Security number and driver’s license number.

On July 3, 2024, Conditioned Air sent out data breach letters to anyone who was affected by the recent data security incident. These letters should provide victims with a list of what information belonging to them was compromised. Conditioned Aire is also providing victims of the breach with 24 months of online credit monitoring service at no cost.
