Listed below are new the preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Health for the mitigation and control of the SARS-CoV2 pandemic (COVID-19) after the client alert published on April 1st, 2020.¹

Resolution establishing the Technical Guidelines related to the activities described in subsections c) and e) of section II of Article One of the Resolution that establishes extraordinary actions to address the health emergency generated by the SARS-CoV2 virus, published on May 31st, 2020.

This resolution establishes the technical guidelines related to some of the activities considered essential, which are indicated below:

• Companies whose suspension may have an irreversible effect on their operations are steel, cement and glass production companies, as well as technology information services that guarantee continuity in public, private and social computer systems.
• The companies mentioned above may maintain minimum activity in order to avoid irreversible effects on their operations, informing the Ministry of Economy in advance.
• The companies mentioned above that have current contracts with the Federal Government will continue activities that allow them to meet short-term commitments, exclusively for the following projects:

(I). Dos Bocas;

(II). Tren Maya;

(III). Felipe Ángeles Airport;

(IV). Transismic (sic) corridor; and

(V). Those existing contracts considered essential for Petróleos Mexicanos and the Federal Electricity Commission.

• The companies that provide courier services and electronic commerce platforms will be able to carry out activities, as long as they comply with the practices mentioned in section III of Article One of the Resolution that establishes extraordinary actions to address the health emergency generated by the SARS-CoV2 virus, published on May 31st, 2020.²
• Companies necessary for the conservation, maintenance and reparation of the critical infrastructure that ensure the production and distribution of essential services are coal mines, which will be able to maintain a minimum activity that satisfies the demand of the Federal Electricity Commission, informing the Ministry of Economy in advance
• Likewise, coal distribution companies will maintain their transport and logistics activities to satisfy the demand of the Federal Electricity Commission, as long as the practices indicated in section III of Article One of the Resolution that establishes extraordinary actions to address the health emergency generated by the SARS-CoV2 virus, published on May 31st, 2020 are complied with.

2 i) No more than 50 individuals shall gather; ii) Frequent hand washing, iii) respiratory etiquette when sneezing or coughing, iv) distant greeting, and v) all measures of healthy distance issued by the Ministry of Health.
