On February 22, 2023, Crum & Forster (“C&F”) filed notice of a data breach with the Massachusetts Attorney General after confirming that an unauthorized party was able to access confidential consumer data as a result of a successful cyberattack. Based on the company’s official filing, the incident resulted in an unauthorized party gaining access to consumers’ names and Social Security numbers. After confirming that consumer data was leaked, C&F began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals who were impacted by the recent data security incident.
