  • A group of 21 Democratic AGs filed amicus briefs in two cases pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in support of law firms challenging President Trump’s Executive Orders imposing sanctions against them.
  • In their briefs, the AGs argue that the Orders—which require federal contractors to disclose any business they do with the firms, require federal officials to suspend security clearances held by individuals at the firms, and deny law firm personnel’s entry into federal buildings, among other things—violate the firms’ First, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights, the separation of powers, and due process principles.
  • The AGs urge the courts to grant the firms’ requests for injunctive relief barring enforcement of the Executive Orders.
