What Caused the E & M Insurance Data Breach?

The E & M Insurance data breach was only recently announced, and more information is expected in the near future. According to this source, on February 20, 2024, E & M Insurance experienced a data security incident involving the company’s email system. While details about the incident are few, tn response, E & M Insurance launched an investigation with the help of outside cybersecurity experts to learn more about the incident and what, if any, information in the company’s possession was compromised.

Through its investigation, on December 17, 2024, E & M Insurance learned that certain emails containing confidential information were accessible by an unauthorized party between February 8, 2024 and February 10, 2024.
