The New Hampshire Legislature is considering legislation that would study the impacts of electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and e-mobility devices on the following:

  • First Responder Response
  • Environment
  • Building Fire Codes
  • Life, Safety, and Property Protection

The legislation is denominated SB430.

The legislation would establish a Council to undertake a study of these issues.

The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office indicated support for the bill because of:

  • Increasing fire safety concerns regarding electric vehicles and batteries
  • Research at the national level is ongoing and a council or group would facilitate bringing state agencies together with the outside groups

A copy of SB430 can be downloaded here.
