Last week, Commissioner Rob Powelson announced that he will be leaving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in mid-August to become the President and CEO of the National Association of Water Companies. His unexpected departure means that President Trump will need to nominate a new Republican FERC Commissioner, who may change the tone of the resilience and subsidy debate, as well as affect interstate natural gas pipeline climate change issues raised by environmental and landowner intervenors.
